
Jaunpur, 08 July (HS): The state government's ambitious
Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme was launched in Jaunpur, Uttar
Pradesh, on Wednesday from Varanasi. Its live broadcast was seen in the
Collectorate auditorium in Jaunpur. During the program, the scheme, which
provides cashless medical facilities up to Rs 5 lakh to teachers, non-teaching
staff, and their dependents, was launched. An amount of Rs 1,200 per student
was also transferred to the accounts of students' parents through DBT.
The program in Jaunpur was inaugurated by State Minister of
State (Independent Charge) for Sports and Youth Welfare Girish Chandra Yadav,
Rajya Sabha MP Seema Dwivedi, BJP District President Ajit Prajapati, Dr. Ajay
Singh, and District Magistrate Samuel Pal N. by lighting a lamp and garlanding
a picture of Goddess Saraswati. Guests were welcomed with bouquets, robes, and
saplings.
On this occasion, public representatives distributed
symbolic cards of the Chief Minister's Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme to 10
teachers, Shikshamitras, instructors, special educators, and cooks from the
Basic Education Department. Five teachers from the Secondary Education
Department were also provided with cards for the scheme.
Addressing the program, State Minister Girish Chandra Yadav
stated that the state government is fully committed to the respect, security,
and welfare of teachers, Shikshamitras, instructors, and all personnel
associated with the education department. He added that this scheme will
provide cashless medical care up to Rs. 5 lakh to approximately 1.2 million
teachers and their families in the state. This will ensure better and timely
treatment in case of serious illness or emergency, and will also reduce
financial burden.
He said that the Chief Minister's Teacher Cashless Medical
Scheme is not just a health care facility, but a powerful means of respecting
teachers and ensuring their social security. Given the crucial role teachers
play in society and nation-building, ensuring their health and family safety is
a top priority for the government. During the event, a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) was signed with the State Bank of India to provide social
security coverage for teachers and contract workers. Principals and headmasters
of nationally selected clean and green schools were also honored.
