
Prayagraj, 06 July (HS): On Monday, Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath will launch 'Prerna Park', a memorial park on the banks of the
Yamuna near the Boat Club, as another addition to the city's riverside
infrastructure following the Maha Kumbh. The park, which cost Rs 1 crore to
build, has bronze sculptures of three notable national figures: Dr. Shyama
Prasad Mukherjee, former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee,
and Ashok Singhal, former Vishwa Hindu Parishad worldwide president.
During his visit, the chief minister will also inaugurate the 'Ekta Nauka Race'
(Unity Boat Race) and examine over 1,553 development projects worth Rs 2,500
crore in Prayagraj zone.
The banks of the Yamuna are destined to become a source of inspiration for
young people and visitors, as they celebrate icons connected with nationalism
and nation-building. Prerna Park, located on the Yamuna Riverfront near
Kalighat, was constructed by the Municipal Corporation.
According to Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, the park cost Rs 1
crore to create.The park was built to convey the values and ideals of
these three great personalities—Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Atal Bihari
Vajpayee, and Ashok Singhal—who embodied service to the nation, cultural
nationalism, social harmony, and public welfare to future generations, he
stated.
The location will be used not just to pay respect, but also to motivate
children and people from all walks of life to work together to build a stronger
nation. Landscaping, lighting, paths, seating arrangements, beautification, and
sanitation measures have all been implemented around the sculptures.
The Yamuna will also host the Unity Boat Race, which is
being held in remembrance of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, whose goals of
cultural nationalism and a strong, united India are still remembered. Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath will start the race, in which more than two dozen
boats are anticipated to compete. Following the ceremony, the chief minister
will visit the Prayagraj Mela Authority auditorium at Parade Ground to assess
1,553 ongoing and finished projects worth over Rs 2,500 crore carried out by
the Public Works Department and other departments in the Prayagraj zone.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath penned a post on X, which
reads as follows: “Today, a new chapter dedicated to national consciousness,
cultural identity, and an inspiring heritage is set to be added to the glorious
history of the Sangam city of Prayagraj. With the inauguration of 'Prerna Park'
located at Kali Ghat, the unveiling of the statues of the immortal pioneer of
nation-building, the revered Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee ji, the former Prime
Minister, 'Bharat Ratna' revered Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji, and the illustrious
ambassador of Indian culture, the revered Ashok Singhal ji, will take place. This
initiative, dedicated to the ideals of great souls, will infuse new energy into
the values of national pride, cultural glory, and public service.”
