Russian Foreign Ministry Says Issues Demarche to Swedish Envoy Over UAV Attack on Embassy

MOSCOW, July 6 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday that it had issued a demarche to Swedish Ambassador in Moscow Anna Christina Therese Johannesson in connection with a UAV attack on the Russian Embassy in the country.

On July 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish ambassador in Moscow and strongly protested the recent attack by two UAVs on the Russian Embassy in Stockholm on the night of July 2, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry pointed out to the Swedish ambassador that Stockholm's inaction was unacceptable against the background of constant UAV attacks on Russian missions, the statement read.

We demanded that the Swedish side strictly comply with its obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961, as well as take comprehensive measures to stop the aforementioned incidents [attacks on foreign missions], the ministry added.
