Dibrugarh (Assam), 06 July (HS): One person was killed on the spot while five others, including women and a child, sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between a speeding car and a passenger auto-rickshaw on National Highway-37 near Khatkhati in Moran last night.

The deceased has been identified as Biren Bhumij. Following the accident, local residents, with the assistance of the police, rescued the injured and rushed them to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to local residents, the driver of the Swift Dzire car was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and lost control of the vehicle, leading to the collision. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.-----------
