
Three accused arrested in two separate operations
Amritsar, 06 July (H.S.): In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Counter Intelligence Amritsar has busted two narcotics smuggling networks and arrested three accused in two separate operations. The police recovered 13 kilograms of heroin from their possession.
According to the Punjab Police, the arrested accused were involved in collecting heroin consignments from different locations and supplying them to various parties across Punjab. The recovery is being seen as a significant success in the ongoing campaign against drug smuggling in the state.
Two separate cases have been registered at Police Station State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar. Police officials said further investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward links of the smuggling networks.
The investigation will focus on identifying other associates involved in the illegal trade and uncovering the complete supply chain. Punjab Police said it remains committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks and making Punjab a safe and drug-free state.
