Amit Shah to Attend Cooperation Ministry’s 5th Foundation Day Celebrations, Launch Major Cooperative Initiatives

New Delhi, 05 July (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will attend the fifth Foundation Day celebrations of the Ministry of Cooperation at Bharat Mandapam on Monday. On the occasion, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several key projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector. A major highlight of the programme will be the conversion of 50,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) into e-PACS.

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will also be signed between the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL) and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to strengthen seed systems. Amit Shah will also release the Model Bye-laws for Dairy Cooperative Societies and a commemorative publication highlighting the achievements of the Ministry of Cooperation over the past five years.

The projects and initiatives include the transfer of 135 grain storage warehouses, the inauguration of 85 warehouses, and the foundation laying for 47 new warehouses. Ground-breaking ceremonies will also be held for tissue culture facilities of BBSSL at Sahakar Van, Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh, and Jalgaon in Maharashtra, in collaboration with Amul and the National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF).

The event will also witness the launch of NCD 3.0, a Geo-Tag Mobile Application, and the National Dairy Development Board’s (NDDB) Milk Supply Review Dashboard Portal.

Several new cooperative initiatives will also be unveiled, including productivity enhancement programmes for dairy animals under Cooperative Inputs and Services Delivery Multi-State Limited, the inauguration of the Cooperative Milk Producers Organisation Multi-State Limited and the Gomaya Cooperative Society Multi-State Limited, as well as two major initiatives of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC): Sahakar CBS, a centralised core banking platform, and Sahakar Sahayogi, an interactive AI-powered platform for urban cooperative banks.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar, and Minister of State for Cooperation and Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol will also be present at the event.
