Prayagraj, 04 July (HS): Professor (Dr.) S.P. Mishra, Senior

Professor and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology at Motilal Nehru

Medical College, Prayagraj, was honored with the HFT Oration Award at the

prestigious national scientific conference, LiverCon-2026, held in Agartala,

Tripura. The honor was given for his long-standing contributions to the field

of liver and digestive system diseases, outstanding clinical services, research

work, and significant contributions to medical education.

Leading hepatologists, gastroenterologists, and superspecialty physicians from

across the country participated in this two-day national conference held on

June 27th and 28th. The conference included detailed scientific discussions on

the rapidly increasing incidence of liver diseases in India, including

hepatitis prevention, liver cirrhosis, liver transplantation, and modern

treatment methods. Experts warned that if lifestyle-related risk factors are

not addressed promptly, India could become the world's largest center for liver

diseases.

During the conference, Prof. (Dr.) S.P. Mishra presented a lecture on early

detection of liver diseases, public awareness, community-level hepatitis

control, and the role of modern medicine. He was presented with the HFT Oration

Award for his outstanding contributions to medical education, research, and

patient care.

Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Mishra said, Livercon-2026, held in Agartala, is an

important scientific platform for leading liver specialists in the country. It

was a matter of great pride and satisfaction for me to represent Uttar Pradesh,

and especially Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, at this conference. To

address the growing challenge of liver diseases, public awareness, timely

diagnosis, healthy lifestyle, and dissemination of modern treatment methods to

the last person in society are the need of the hour.

Expressing his delight at this achievement, Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Verma, Principal

of Motilal Nehru Medical College, said, This national-level recognition

for Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Mishra is not only a personal achievement, but also a

matter of pride for Motilal Nehru Medical College, Prayagraj, and the entire

state of Uttar Pradesh. He has performed outstanding work in the fields of

medical education, research, and patient care over the years. His recognition

is a national testament to our institution's academic and clinical excellence.
