Jammu, 04 July (H.S.): Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday ordered the suspension of eight officials of the school education department and removal of a contractual employee over the selection and procurement of two library books found to contain “inappropriate content”.

The Lt Governor has also ordered a departmental inquiry, blacklisted the books' authors and publishers, and directed the withdrawal of their publications from Jammu and Kashmir following an uproar that it allegedly glorified terrorists, separatists and stone-pelters.

Both the BJP and Congress have demanded an immediate ban on the controversial book and the sacking of J-K Education Minister Sakeena Itoo.
