Lucknow, 04 July (HS): On Saturday, the second day of the

three-day Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival-2026 organized at the Indira

Gandhi Pratishthan on the initiative of the Yogi government, a technical

session was organized between senior officials of the Horticulture Department,

agricultural scientists and progressive mango producing farmers from across the

state. The main objective of this technical session was to connect mango horticulture

with modern techniques, improve crop quality and brainstorm on measures to

double the income of farmers.

During the session, special emphasis was laid on the

marketing, processing and export possibilities of mango. Scientists and export

experts explained to the farmers how they can reach their products to

international markets through proper packaging and branding.

Experts provided detailed information to farmers on

post-harvest management, value addition, export standards, natural farming, and

startup opportunities. They also briefed them on modern methods for safe

harvesting, storage, and grading of mangoes, so that the state's world-famous

mangoes can receive fair prices in the global market.

Horticulture Department officials stated that the Yogi

government is taking horticulture to new heights by providing farmers with

quality planting material, scientific advice, and improved marketing

facilities. The state government's goal is to increase the income of mango

growers by connecting them to the global market. Representatives from APEDA,

the Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Lucknow, FPOs, and experts

from the food processing sector also participated in the technical session.
