
Guwahati, 04 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to eminent Assamese poet Hiren Bhattacharyya on his death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to Assamese literature.
In a message shared on social media, the Chief Minister described Bhattacharyya as the poet of fragrant butterflies and a master of words whose simple yet deeply emotional poetry introduced a new voice, language and sensitivity to Assamese literature.
Sarma said the legendary poet possessed the rare ability to transform words into the heartbeat of human emotions, ushering in a distinctive era in modern Assamese poetry. He added that Hiren Bhattacharyya's thoughts, writings and literary legacy would continue to inspire generations.
The Chief Minister concluded his message by offering heartfelt homage to the celebrated poet, fondly remembered as Hiruda.-----------
