
Guwahati, 04 July (HS): Assam Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai on Saturday inspected Maligaon and adjoining areas under the Jalukbari constituency to review drains, water drainage systems and flood-prone locations as part of the government's ongoing efforts to address waterlogging in Guwahati.
During the visit, the minister directed officials of the GMC, GMDA, Indian Railways, PWD and other concerned departments to strengthen the drainage network and ensure better coordination for effective water management during the monsoon. He also stressed the importance of public cooperation in making the initiative successful.
Senior officials, including Housing and Urban Affairs Commissioner and Secretary Kavita Padmanabhan, GMDA CEO Ambatun MP., GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Phukan and other departmental officers, accompanied the minister during the inspection.-----------
