
Mumbai, 30 July (HS): After completing the e-KYC procedure,
1.66 crore women were declared eligible for benefit under the ‘Mukhyamantri
Ladki Banhin Yojana’ of the state government. About 66 lakh women had to be
removed as they failed to complete the e-KYC procedure.
The Women
and Child Development Department has transferred the June instalment to the
bank accounts of eligible women.
The scheme
was launched on June 28, 2024 by the then Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Under
the scheme financial assistance of Rs 1,500 per month was extended to women
between 21 and 65 years of age and their family’s annual income is below 2.50
lakh and on fulfilling other criteria.
