New Delhi, 03 July (H.S.): Supporters of environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for the past six days, observed a one-day solidarity fast on Friday. Members and supporters of the social media campaign Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) joined the protest to express support as concerns mounted over Wangchuk's deteriorating health.

CJP chief Abhijeet Deepke, in a post on X, said, Our team is observing a fast today in support of Sonam Wangchuk. His health is deteriorating day by day, and our collective support is crucial at this moment. If you are also participating in this one-day fast, please post a video to encourage him.

Deepke said Wangchuk's supporters and people from Ladakh had come together in a show of solidarity in view of his worsening health. He added that members of his team and other supporters were observing a one-day fast to strengthen the campaign.

Concerns over Wangchuk's condition intensified after his blood sugar level reportedly dropped to 60 on Thursday, while his blood pressure also fell significantly below normal levels, prompting growing anxiety among his supporters.
