
Nagpur, 28 July
(HS): Given the forecast of very heavy rains in The Vidarbha region accompanied
by lighting and high speed wind for the next three days, Nagpur District
Collector has announced a holiday on July 29 for all educational institutions
in Nagpur City, and Rural areas, including Hingna and Kamptee tehsils in the
district.
The Regional
Meteorological Centre, Nagpur has predicted heavy to very heavy rains for the three
days. Heavy rains lashed the region on Tuesday. An orange alert has been issued
for Wednesday. During the last 24 hours the Vidarbha region 139 mm rainfall.
Gondia district’s Sadak Arjuni recorded 103.4 mm rainfall.
The Met office
has issued an orange alert for Nagpur, Bhandara, Wardha and Red alert for
Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Gondi districts for 29 July, On 30 July a Red alert
for Chandrapur, and Orange alert for Bhandara, Gadchiroli, Gondi, Nagpur,
Wardha and Amravati district has been issued and a Yellow alert for Akola,
Buldana, Washim and Yavatmal districts.
A Yellow alert has
been issued for July 31 for Akola, Amravati, Wardha and Yavatmal districts.
