Auraiya, 28 July (HS): The month of July is about to end but

in Auraiya district, Uttar Pradesh, the lack of significant rainfall has

continued to worry farmers. The paddy crop requires abundant rainfall, but this

time, only intermittent light showers have prevented the fields from retaining

sufficient moisture. As a result, farmers are forced to resort to submersible

pumps and other irrigation methods to save their paddy crops.

The lack of rain and persistent humidity has begun to

adversely affect Kharif crops. Pests and various diseases are rapidly

increasing in maize, millet, and green vegetable crops. Fearing a decline in

production, farmers have begun spraying pesticides to protect their crops. The

sky remained overcast throughout the day on Monday, but the lack of heavy rain

disappointed farmers.

According to the Meteorological Department, the district's

maximum temperature on Monday was 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 28

degrees Celsius. With the wind speed being only four kilometers per hour, the

humidity in the atmosphere increased significantly, disrupting normal life and

causing people to endure the heat throughout the day.

Meteorologist Dr. Rampal said that even a one-degree change

in temperature affects crop growth. Currently, there are no signs of heavy rain

or any major changes in the weather. He advised farmers to regularly monitor

their crops, irrigate as needed, and use pest and disease control agents as

advised by agricultural experts to minimize losses.
