Lucknow, 26 July (HS): Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for

Cooperatives (Independent Charge) J.P.S. Rathore stated that Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath has emphasized radically transforming the state's cooperative

sector, strengthening cooperative banks and primary cooperative societies

(PACS). In this vein, a campaign is now underway to provide new employment

opportunities to youth by re-opening cooperative training centers.

He said that there are many cooperative training centers in

the state, but due to past mismanagement, these centers have closed and their

buildings have become dilapidated and rundown. These training centers are being

revived through financial assistance.

An amount of Rs 4.71 crore has been released to the

Cooperative Training Centre, Varanasi, and Rs 7.81 crore to the Cooperative

Training Centre, Ayodhya. Similarly, the government has approved funds of Rs

3.93 crore to the Cooperative Training Centre, Meerut, Rs 1.61 crore to Mahoba,

and Rs 5.19 crore to Etawah.

Minister Rathore said that since Prime Minister Narendra

Modi established the new Ministry of Cooperation in the Central Government five

years ago, cooperative activities have rapidly increased across the country.

Qualified and skilled youth are needed to run these activities and programs.

Diploma programs related to cooperative leadership development and business

development will be offered at these cooperative training centers.
