Lucknow, 26 July (HS): Urban Development and Energy Minister

A.K. Sharma, along with Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, participated in a

tribute ceremony held at the Kargil Martyrs' Memorial Garden on the occasion of

the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, paying heartfelt tribute to the immortal martyrs

who made the supreme sacrifice for the motherland in the Kargil War. The

families of the martyrs were also honored at the event.

In his address on this occasion, Minister A.K. Sharma said

that Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolizes the indomitable courage, valor, and

patriotism of the country's brave sons. He paid tribute to all the immortal

martyrs of Kargil and expressed his gratitude to their families and veterans. Minister

Sharma said that wars like Kargil are not fought only on the borders, but that

many challenges exist within the country today. He said that all citizens need

to be vigilant against terrorists, disguised anti-national elements, and forces

spreading confusion in society.

He said that in this era of social media, misleading and

false information spreads very fast, hence it is the responsibility of every

citizen to verify the veracity of any information before believing it and not

to become a part of any propaganda against the unity and integrity of the

country. While giving instructions to the officials from the stage itself,

Minister Sharma said that complaints related to soldiers and martyr families

should be resolved immediately on priority basis, so that the families who have

dedicated their all for the nation do not have to face any kind of

inconvenience.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also paid tribute to

the brave martyrs of Kargil and remembered former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna,

the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said that during the Kargil War, Vajpayee

personally visited the border area to boost the morale of the soldiers. He said

that it is our responsibility to identify and honor all the military families

in Lucknow and ensure timely resolution of their problems.

The families of the immortal martyrs were honored during the

program. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, MLAs Neeraj Bora, Ramchandra Pradhan, Pawan

Singh Chauhan, Santosh Singh, Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, families of

the martyrs, veterans, a large number of soldiers, and local citizens were

present on the occasion.
