Focus on effective implementation of welfare schemes; CAG reports of various departments to be tabled in the Assembly

Kolkata, 24 July 24 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Legislature Party will hold an important meeting on Friday during the West Bengal Assembly Budget Session, where Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will conduct a special strategy session for party MLAs. The meeting will focus on strengthening the implementation of government welfare schemes, improving public outreach, and reviewing the performance of ministers and legislators over the past nearly three months.

According to sources, the meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Naishad Ali Hall of the Assembly. During the nearly hour-long session, the Chief Minister will present a detailed roadmap for implementing the commitments made in the party's election manifesto as well as the schemes announced in the 2026-27 State Budget.

MLAs will also be guided on identifying bottlenecks in the implementation of government programmes in their respective constituencies and coordinating with the administration to ensure timely resolution of public issues.

The primary objective of the meeting is to ensure that the benefits of both Central and State government welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary without exception. The Chief Minister is also expected to assign an eight-month constituency-wise action plan to legislators so that the benefits of government programmes are delivered to every village and household in a time-bound manner.

Sources said the initiative is aimed at making the administrative system more accountable, transparent and result-oriented following the formation of the new government. The emphasis will be on ensuring that government announcements are translated into effective implementation on the ground, while strengthening the responsibility and accountability of elected representatives.

During the Assembly proceedings, the Chief Minister is also scheduled to table the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports relating to various government departments before the House.
