Guwahati, 23 July (HS): Nazira MLA Mayur Borgohain on Thursday said that the flood situation in the Nazira region has caused widespread devastation, with 55 people still reported missing.

He said that more than 2,000 cattle have killed in the disaster, while around 200 paved roads have been completely destroyed by the floodwaters.

The MLA further informed that flood-hit Bihubar area has been covered with silt deposits of up to eight feet on roads, severely affecting transportation and restoration efforts. He added that the administration is continuing relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.-----------
