New Delhi, 21 July (H.S.): Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was discharged from Safdarjung Hospital here on Tuesday evening and has been transferred to the medical team at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram for further treatment.

According to a health bulletin issued by Safdarjung Hospital, Sonam Wangchuk was handed over to the medical team of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram at 6:40 pm on Tuesday following the directions of the Delhi High Court.

The bulletin stated that his essential health parameters were stable at the time of discharge. However, the condition of pancytopenia, a medical condition involving a reduction in all three major blood cell types — red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets — continues to persist. His serum potassium level was recorded at 3.4 mEq/L.

To ensure the smooth continuation of his further treatment, all necessary medical documents, investigation reports and treatment records have been provided to his medical team.
