Jorhat (Assam), 21 July (HS): Acting on the directions of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, State Minister Keshab Mahanta visited flood-affected Mariani on Tuesday to assess the prevailing situation and review ongoing relief and rescue operations.

During the visit, the minister announced an ex gratia of ₹4 lakh each for the families of those who lost their lives in the floods. He assured that the state government would extend all possible support to the affected families and ensure timely relief assistance.

MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi and the Jorhat District Commissioner accompanied Minister Mahanta during the inspection and interacted with officials to take stock of the flood response measures in the affected areas.-----------
