New Delhi, 02 July (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Sunil Bansal on Wednesday praised renowned Rajasthan-based social activist and artist Manan Chaturvedi for her marathon painting show, describing it as an inspiring initiative aimed at creating greater social awareness.

Chaturvedi completed the unique challenge of painting continuously for 24 hours at Palika Bazaar in New Delhi on Tuesday. Concluding the event, Bansal said society needs more such initiatives that inspire people and encourage social responsibility.

He said meaningful social work can only be accomplished with the active participation and support of society.

Member of Parliament Jagdambika Pal, who was present on the occasion, said Chaturvedi's efforts to inspire society through art were unique and commendable. He noted that the marathon painting show was organised to raise awareness about the welfare, protection and rights of abandoned and destitute children.

The event marked Chaturvedi's 21st painting show in Delhi. She has previously organised similar marathon painting events in several major cities across Rajasthan and Gujarat. She also holds a world record for painting continuously for 72 hours.

During the 24-hour event in Delhi, Chaturvedi created 52 artworks.

Speaking on the occasion, Chaturvedi said society needs to develop a more positive and sensitive approach towards child protection and children's rights. She observed that people often either sympathise with children or treat them merely as a source of amusement, whereas what children truly need is understanding.

She added that even children living with their families often experience neglect, while the condition of abandoned and destitute children is far more distressing, underscoring the urgent need for greater awareness and collective action.
