
New Delhi, 02 July (H.S.): The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday announced by-elections for three vacant Assembly constituencies across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
According to the Election Commission, the bypolls will be held for the Bankipur Assembly constituency in Bihar, the Datia Assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh and the Manjalpur Assembly constituency in Gujarat, all of which had fallen vacant due to different reasons.
The Commission said the Bankipur seat became vacant following the resignation of BJP leader Nitin Nabin. The Datia Assembly seat fell vacant after legislator Rajendra Bhati was disqualified, while the Manjalpur seat became vacant following the death of MLA Yogesh Patel.
Polling for all three Assembly constituencies will be conducted on July 30, while the counting of votes will take place on August 3. The Election Commission will issue the official notification for the by-elections on July 6.
