Guwahati, 17 July (HS): More than 100 military veterans participated in an Entrepreneurship Workshop in Guwahati on Friday, aimed at helping ex-servicemen transition into successful entrepreneurs. The programme was organised by the NER Chapter of PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI).

The workshop focused on equipping veterans with essential entrepreneurial skills, including business planning, financial management, access to government schemes, marketing strategies, digital business opportunities and startup funding. Participants also interacted with successful entrepreneurs and industry experts, who shared practical insights on establishing and growing businesses.

Addressing the gathering, Air Vice Marshal Sanjib Bordoloi, AVSM (Retd), highlighted that the leadership, discipline, resilience and problem-solving skills developed during military service provide a strong foundation for entrepreneurial success. He encouraged veterans to utilise these strengths to build sustainable enterprises and contribute to the region's economic development.

Representatives from the NER Chapter PHDCCI, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Guwahati, and the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) informed participants about various support mechanisms available to ex-servicemen, including training, mentoring, financial assistance and networking opportunities.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the organisers' commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance among military veterans.------------
