Guwahati, 15 July (HS): Guwahati Police arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized suspected heroin during a patrol near the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in the city early Wednesday.
According to police, around 4 am, a night patrolling team led by Sub-Inspector Kushal Deka intercepted a white-and-black Aprilia scooty (ML-05X-3998) near the ISBT and carried out a search.
During the search, conducted in the presence of independent witnesses, police recovered two soap cases containing a total of 25.16 grams of suspected heroin from the scooter's storage compartment.
The two occupants of the scooty, identified as Hatim Ali (18) and Rafiqul Islam (19), both residents of Darrang district, were arrested on the spot.
Police also seized the scooty, along with its key and two mobile phones from the accused. Necessary legal proceedings have been initiated.----------
