
New Delhi, July 14 (HS): India has reaffirmed its support for Palestine's membership of the United Nations and reiterated its commitment to a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.
India's position was conveyed by Ministry of External Affairs Secretary (East) Sripriya Ranganathan at the ministerial meeting of the Palestine Donor Group held in Brussels on Monday.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Ranganathan reaffirmed India's long-standing support for the Palestinian people and reiterated New Delhi's backing for a two-state solution, with Israel and Palestine living side by side in peace and security within recognised borders in accordance with international law.
She also reaffirmed India's support for Palestine's membership of the United Nations.
Ranganathan highlighted India's continuing developmental partnership with Palestine through capacity-building programmes and humanitarian assistance. She said India's projects are demand-driven and primarily focused on healthcare, education, vocational training and capacity building.
The MEA said India is currently implementing projects in healthcare, women's empowerment and institution building in Palestine. It also announced new initiatives aimed at rehabilitation, health, education and vocational training.
