
Udhampur, 12 July (H.S.): Three Amarnath Yatris sustained injuries after a tempo carrying pilgrims collided with a bus travelling in the same convoy on Sunday morning.
According to official reports, the accident at Garnai near PS Rehambal in Udhampur occurred at around 06:15 AM when a tempo bearing registration number PB01C-8686, carrying 10 Yatris, hit a bus bearing registration number JK08Q-3477, carrying 47 Yatris, from the rear while both vehicles were moving in a convoy.
In the collision, three passengers travelling in the tempo sustained injuries and were identified as:
Ekta Shatdhar (51), wife of Sanjay Shatdhar, Sanjay Yadav (43), son of Chantoli Yadav, Asish Rai (29), son of Jaswant Rai, all resident of Gwalior.
The injured pilgrims were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for treatment. Three fellow Yatris accompanied them to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the remaining passengers of the tempo were accommodated in a spare vehicle to continue their pilgrimage, while the bus carrying 47 Yatris was allowed to proceed on its onward journey after necessary formalities.
Authorities ensured prompt medical assistance and transportation arrangements, preventing any major disruption to the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. The condition of the injured pilgrims is reported to be stable.
