Lucknow, 12 July (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on
Sunday participated in event organized in Gorakhpur district for the
inauguration of 'One Tree in the Name of Mother' Tree Plantation
Mahayagya-2026.. In Tree Plantation Mahayagya-2026 he planted Maulsari saplings
in Gorakhpur and claimed, “In the last 9 years, 242 crore tree plantings have been
completed in Uttar Pradesh. UP has also succeeded in expanding its forest
cover. In response to the call of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi
ji, 1.6 million LED street lights have been installed in the state. I will appeal to the people of the state -
become a part of 'Tree Plantation Mahayagya-2026'...In this Mahayagya, wherever
you are, plant a tree and protect it. It is essential to restore balance to
nature's imbalance that every citizen fulfills their duty towards the
environment.”
Meanwhile, in a post on X, CM Yogi stated, “Tree plantation
is a divine act. It is a resolve to serve creation, worship humanity, and
secure the future. With the same sacred spirit, today from Gorakhpur, the
sacred land of penance of Shivavatar Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakhnath Ji, the 'One
Tree in Mother's Name' Tree Plantation Mahayagya-2026 will be inaugurated.
Through the coordinated efforts of 26 state departments, this historic campaign
of planting 35 crore saplings in a single day will transform nature
conservation into a grand festival of public participation, through events such
as the planting of the sacred Triveni, establishment of Vikas Vatika,
distribution of carbon credit certificates to farmers, and planting of Maulsari
saplings. Come, by planting 'One Tree in Mother's Name', become a part of this
'people's Mahayagya' for a green, prosperous, and developed Uttar Pradesh.”
In another post he mentiomed, “A well in the midst of ten
wells, a lake amid ten lakes, a pond. A
son equal to ten sons, a tree equal to ten sons. Inspired by the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi
ji, today at the sacred abode of Shivavatar Mahayogi Guru Shri Gorakhnath ji in
Gorakhpur, the 'Vriksharopan Mahayagya-2026' was auspiciously inaugurated by
planting saplings of the holy 'Triveni'.
On this occasion, the Vikas Vatika was established, a forestry-based
calendar was released under the aegis of the Forest Department, and by planting
a 'Maulsari' sapling. Renewed energy was infused into the sacred resolve of
'Green Uttar Pradesh'. Additionally, saplings were provided to beneficiaries of
the Chief Minister Awas Yojana, and cheques were also given to distinguished
individuals fulfilling their vital roles in the forest cover campaign. Let us,
while expressing our gratitude to our mother and Mother Earth, plant at least
one tree in her name under 'One Tree in Mother's Name' and make this grand
green yagya of planting 35 crore saplings a success through public
participation.
