
Dubai, 12 July (H.S.): International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah has congratulated former India men's captain Sourav Ganguly, former India women's captain Anjum Chopra and former England batter Kevin Pietersen on their induction into the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame.
In a post on X on Sunday, Shah wrote, I am delighted to welcome the newest inductees into the ICC Hall of Fame. This honour recognises exceptional cricketers whose achievements have made an enduring contribution to our game. Sourav Ganguly, Anjum Chopra and Kevin Pietersen all captained their respective national teams with distinction. On behalf of the ICC, I congratulate all three on this well-deserved recognition.
The ICC announced the induction of the three cricketing greats into its Hall of Fame in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the sport across different formats.
With the honour, Sourav Ganguly has become the 10th Indian male cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, while Anjum Chopra has become only the third Indian woman cricketer to receive the distinction.
During his international career, Ganguly played 424 matches and scored 18,575 runs, including 38 centuries and 107 half-centuries. He amassed 7,212 runs in 113 Test matches and 11,363 runs in 311 One-Day Internationals.
Former India women's captain Anjum Chopra made a significant contribution to the growth of women's cricket in the country. During her 17-year international career, she scored more than 3,500 runs and became the first Indian woman cricketer to play 100 One-Day Internationals.
Former England batting great Kevin Pietersen, who also joins the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame, scored 13,797 international runs during his career. He accumulated 8,181 runs in 104 Test matches, 4,440 runs in 136 One-Day Internationals and 1,176 runs in 37 T20 Internationals.
