Lucknow, 08 June (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's
government celebrated the 12th anniversary of Garib Kalyan (poor people's
welfare), commemorating the change of millions of lives. Yogi Adityanath, Chief
Minister of Uttar Pradesh, applauded this milestone, noting that during the
last 12 years, the welfare of the disadvantaged has been prioritized. CM Yogi
Adityanath stated that targeted welfare, which includes free ration
distribution, housing, and digital financial inclusion, has improved the
state's living conditions and dignity. The welfare delivery system has improved
access to basic needs through projects such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,
Ayushman Bharat, and Swachh Bharat. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
(PMGKY) is still a cornerstone, offering free monthly food grains to the
poorest of the impoverished.
UP CM stated in a post on X, “The glorious saga of the
resurgence of dignity, security, and trust in the lives of crores of deprived
families in India over these 12 years of Garib Kalyan, under the illustrious
leadership of the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, stands as a
testament to transformative governance. In these epoch-making years dedicated
to Antyodaya, Garib Kalyan has evolved from merely a governance priority into
its very ethos. The Jan Dhan Yojana opened the doors to banking services, the
Ujjwala Yojana freed maternal strength from the clutches of smoke, the Swachh
Bharat Mission safeguarded dignity, the Jal Jeevan Mission delivered the
life-giving flow to every home, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana instilled
confidence of a sturdy roof for millions of families. Direct Benefit Transfer
empowered transparency, Ayushman Bharat provided a shield of health security,
and social security schemes ignited new self-confidence in the lives of crores
of families.”
“This 12-year journey, which strengthens the foundation of
'Viksit Bharat,' is not merely about schemes but about the homes where
amenities reached for the first time, about the families who felt, perhaps for
the first time, that the government had arrived at their doorstep. Heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister ji
for these historic 12 years, which have scripted a new chapter of hope,
opportunity, and self-confidence in the lives of the poor and deprived,” he remarked prior to signing off.
