Mobile vans to cover 13,000 villages in 23 districts with 30-minute documentary on Guru Ji’s life and teachings

Sangrur, 30 June (H.S.): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday flagged off 50 mobile documentary vans as part of the state government’s year-long celebrations to mark the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

The documentary vans will travel across nearly 13,000 villages in all 23 districts of Punjab and screen a 30-minute documentary on the life, philosophy and sacred teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj. Each van has been equipped with a 12 ft × 8 ft LED screen to ensure that Guru Ji’s message reaches people at the grassroots level.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the initiative aims to take Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj’s timeless message of equality, social justice, devotion and universal brotherhood to every household in Punjab, especially the younger generation. He said the documentary is a true tribute to Guru Ji, who dedicated his life to creating a society free from caste discrimination, inequality and injustice.

The Chief Minister said the Punjab Government is committed to celebrating the 650th Parkash Purab in a historic and befitting manner. He added that the state government has earmarked ₹100 crore for year-long programmes and events dedicated to spreading the eternal legacy of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

CM Mann described the occasion as a matter of great pride and said it was his good fortune to be part of major historic commemorations, including the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and now the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj.

Highlighting the relevance of Guru Ji’s teachings in present times, the Chief Minister said Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj gave the message of welfare of humanity and equality among all sections of society. He said Guru Ji envisioned an ideal society where no one suffers due to discrimination or social injustice.

Mann said the state government wants to connect the youth with the noble teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji so that they can contribute to building a harmonious and egalitarian society. He added that the campaign will inspire people to follow the path of dignity, self-respect, devotion and brotherhood.

Cabinet Ministers Dr. Ravjot Singh and Tarunpreet Singh Sond were also present on the occasion.
