Congress leaders congratulated D. K. Shivakumar after he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday. On the occasion, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi extended their best wishes to Shivakumar. Both leaders also expressed gratitude to former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for strengthening the Congress leadership in the state.
In a post on X, Kharge congratulated Chief Minister Shivakumar and the members of the Council of Ministers on taking the oath to build a brighter future for Karnataka. He also thanked Siddaramaiah for his honest and dedicated leadership. Kharge said that the Congress Party’s collective leadership would continue to stand with the people of the state in advancing social justice, economic empowerment, and inclusive development.
Rahul Gandhi wrote on X that the people of Karnataka had placed their trust in the Congress Party, and that trust represented its greatest responsibility. He extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Shivakumar and the members of his Cabinet. Gandhi also thanked Siddaramaiah, stating that his leadership and service had strengthened Karnataka and improved the lives of millions of people. He added that the Congress guarantees form the foundation of governance and that the party would continue working to fulfill the aspirations of the people.
Notably, G. Parameshwara was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister alongside Shivakumar. In addition, K. H. Muniyappa, K. J. George, M. B. Patil, Ramalinga Reddy, Satish Jarkiholi, Krishna Byre Gowda, Priyank Kharge, U. T. Khader, Eshwar Khandre, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Byrathi Suresh and Sharan Prakash Patil also took the oath of office as ministers.
