
Hyderabad, June 29 (HS): More than 30 passengers were injured after an RTC Express bus travelling from Kurnool to Hyderabad lost control and overturned on National Highway-44 on Sunday.
The bus was carrying more than 50 passengers when the accident occurred, triggering panic among passengers and motorists on the highway.
The injured were shifted to the Government Hospital at Pebberu in Wanaparthy district for treatment.
Soon after the accident, local residents and fellow passengers rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. They pulled out several passengers trapped inside the overturned bus. Reports said two passengers remained trapped inside the vehicle during the initial rescue efforts.
The exact cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
