
Tamulpur (Assam), 26 June (HS): The Tamulpur district administration has imposed prohibitory measures around examination centres to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the Special Assam Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026, scheduled to be held on June 28.
District Magistrate Simi Karan issued the order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. The restrictions will apply within a 100-metre radius of the three examination centres—Tamulpur Higher Secondary School, Tamulpur Senior Secondary School and Tamulpur Senior Secondary School (Commerce).
According to the order, only candidates, authorised scribes, examination personnel and individuals permitted by the district administration will be allowed to enter the restricted zone. Parking and movement of private vehicles within the 100-metre radius have also been prohibited, with only authorised government vehicles permitted.
The administration has further banned the carrying of mobile phones, calculators, smartwatches and other electronic devices inside examination centres, except by officials authorised by the examination authorities. Setting up food stalls, temporary shops or any commercial establishments within the restricted area during the examination period has also been prohibited.
The district administration said the measures have been taken to ensure the peaceful, secure and orderly conduct of the Special TET examination. Violators of the order will face legal action in accordance with the law, Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Bijoy Bezbaq
