New Delhi, 25 June (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday highlighted key outcomes of the 52nd meeting of PRAGATI, a high-level governance and project monitoring platform, stating that infrastructure projects worth more than ₹30,000 crore reviewed during the meeting would accelerate economic growth, connectivity and industrial development across the country.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said that Wednesday's PRAGATI meeting focused on major development projects and governance initiatives. He reiterated the importance of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan in ensuring the timely completion of infrastructure works and improving coordination among various agencies involved in project execution.
The 52nd PRAGATI meeting, held on June 24, reviewed four major infrastructure projects spanning the road, power, industrial corridor and metro rail sectors across four states. Together valued at around ₹30,000 crore, the projects are considered significant for enhancing regional connectivity, strengthening industrial activity and improving public services.
According to official information, the Prime Minister stressed that delays in infrastructure projects result not only in cost escalation but also postpone the economic and social benefits intended for citizens. He directed concerned ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in a mission-mode manner and maintain close monitoring to ensure timely completion.
PM Modi also emphasised the effective utilisation of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, calling for regular updating of project-related information, utility networks, infrastructure layers and clearances on the digital platform. He noted that real-time and accurate data are essential for identifying bottlenecks early, improving inter-agency coordination and enabling informed decision-making.
Apart from infrastructure development, the meeting reviewed progress under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The Prime Minister underlined the need to leverage emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to strengthen tuberculosis elimination efforts. He also suggested greater involvement of NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers in awareness campaigns, patient support and community outreach activities.
Another major issue discussed during the meeting was the growing challenge of cyber crime and incidents of digital fraud, including so-called digital arrest scams. Expressing concern over the increasing misuse of digital platforms to target citizens, the Prime Minister called for a coordinated and time-bound response from law enforcement agencies, banks and digital service providers.
He stressed that victims of cyber fraud should receive prompt assistance and should not be forced to approach multiple agencies for redressal. PM Modi also advocated stronger public awareness campaigns and encouraged states to move towards implementing e-Zero FIR mechanisms to facilitate faster complaint registration and quicker action in cyber fraud cases.
The Prime Minister said the initiatives reviewed during the meeting reflected the government's commitment to efficient governance, technology-driven solutions and timely implementation of projects aimed at improving citizens' lives and supporting India's long-term development goals.
