
Mumbai, 24 June (HS): During the
proceedings of the Legislative Council on the second day of the monsoon session
of the state legislature, in the absence of the presiding Speaker Ram Shinde,
MLC Sanjay Khodke took charge of the proceedings of the House as the acting
Speaker.
While the discussion on the
proposal of Maharashtra Legislative Council Rule 260 brought by the ruling
party was going on, the presiding Speaker of the Legislative Council, Sanjay
Khodke, introduced his parliamentary work and conducted the proceedings of the
Legislative Council for two hours. During this time, the members of the house
discussed various issues like farmers, drought-related situation, loan waiver,
various agricultural schemes, water conservation. He gave an opportunity to
each member to speak at the scheduled time. He listened to everyone. He
demonstrated discipline, patience and prudence. Many congratulated him for
handling the work as the Speaker of the Legislative Council.
