
New Delhi, 24 June (H.S.): Domestic bullion markets witnessed a downward trend during early trading on Wednesday, with both gold and silver prices declining significantly across the country. Due to the weakness in prices, gold became cheaper by ₹1,770 to ₹1,930 per 10 grams in most bullion markets, except Chennai. In Chennai, gold prices declined by ₹400 to ₹440 per 10 grams. Silver prices also registered a sharp fall of up to ₹5,000 per kilogram.
Following the decline, 24-carat gold was trading between ₹144,590 and ₹147,920 per 10 grams in most bullion markets across the country. Similarly, 22-carat gold was being sold in the range of ₹132,540 to ₹135,590 per 10 grams. Silver prices also weakened considerably, with the white metal trading at ₹244,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
In the national capital, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹144,740 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹132,690 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, 24-carat gold was available at ₹144,590 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was trading at ₹132,540 per 10 grams.
Similarly, in Ahmedabad, the retail price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹144,640 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹132,590 per 10 grams.
Among other major cities, Chennai recorded 24-carat gold prices at ₹147,920 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹135,590 per 10 grams. In Kolkata, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹144,590 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹132,540 per 10 grams.
In Bhopal, 24-carat gold was available at ₹144,640 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹132,590 per 10 grams. Jaipur recorded prices of ₹144,740 per 10 grams for 24-carat gold and ₹132,690 per 10 grams for 22-carat gold.
In Patna, 24-carat gold was trading at ₹144,640 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹132,590 per 10 grams. In Lucknow, 24-carat gold was available at ₹144,740 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹132,690 per 10 grams.
Gold prices also declined in the bullion markets of Karnataka, Telangana and Odisha. In the capital cities of these states—Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar—24-carat gold was trading at ₹144,590 per 10 grams. Likewise, 22-carat gold in all three cities was being sold at ₹132,540 per 10 grams.
The widespread decline reflects a softer trend in domestic bullion markets, with both precious metals coming under pressure during the day’s early trading session.
