Bhubaneswar, 23 June (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has welcomed the approval for the deployment of the Kavach automatic train protection system across 631 route kilometres of the East Coast Railway, describing it as a significant milestone in strengthening rail infrastructure and passenger safety.
In a social media post, the Chief Minister said the implementation of Kavach on a key section of the East Coast Railway network would bring substantial benefits to Odisha by enhancing passenger safety, reducing the risk of accidents, improving train operations, and increasing the reliability of railway services.
He noted that the indigenously developed technology would further strengthen connectivity, support economic growth, and contribute to the development of a safer and more efficient railway system for the people of the state.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Majhi acknowledged their commitment to improving rail safety and accelerating the modernization of India’s railway network.
