
Biswanath (Assam), 22 June (HS): In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Biswanath Police arrested most wanted accused Osman Ali during a special anti-narcotics operation. The accused was apprehended from a night bus travelling from Guwahati to Arunachal Pradesh.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs. During the search, officials recovered a substantial quantity of prohibited narcotic substances from a bag in Osman Ali’s possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the drugs were being smuggled to Arunachal Pradesh. The contraband was reportedly concealed in 21 microcentrifuge tubes to evade detection during transportation.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to identify other members of the trafficking network and ascertain the source and destination of the seized narcotics. Further legal proceedings are underway.----------
