Mumbai, 21 June (HS): “Happy International Yoga Day to
everyone! Glad to attend the 'Yoga on the Beach' on the occasion of the 12th
Grand Celebration of International Yoga Day at Juhu Beach in Mumbai today,”
said Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“More than being a form of exercise, Yoga is an ancient
lifestyle and a timeless gift of wellness to humanity. Today, the entire world
recognises its healing power. Proposed by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji,
International Yoga Day was adopted by the United Nations and passed
unanimously. From Japan to the USA and from Europe to Australia, the global
community has embraced Yoga as a daily practice for well-being. Yoga goes far
beyond physical fitness. It recognises that a human being is not just a body
but a harmonious blend of body, mind, and soul, connected with nature. Yoga is
the bridge that restores this connection,” he added in a post on X.
“In today’s fast-paced world, lifestyle and non-communicable
diseases are among our biggest challenges. Yoga offers the perfect, holistic
solution. It not only keeps us physically fit but also serves as a powerful shield
against mental health challenges like stress and depression, bringing inner
peace and emotional balance. On this special day, let us resolve to integrate
Yoga into our lives and build a healthier, happier, and more mindful society,”
further reads the post penned by CM Fadnavis.
Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde, BJP National
