Guwahati, 21 June (HS): A group of local women took to the streets of Ganeshguri late at night carrying sticks and launched a protest against alleged anti-social activities in the area. The women expressed frustration over what they described as increasing instances of disorderly behaviour by youths during late-night hours.

According to local residents, the women targeted groups of young men and women who were allegedly engaged in objectionable activities after coming out of a bar in the Crossroads area. The residents claimed that such activities had become a regular source of concern for people living nearby.

The protesting women alleged that despite repeated complaints, no effective action had been taken by the Dispur Police against those involved. They said the lack of intervention by the authorities had compelled local residents to take matters into their own hands.

The incident drew the attention of passers-by and local residents, while calls were made for stronger police action to maintain law and order and address public concerns regarding late-night disturbances in the locality.-----------
