
Guwahati, 21 June (HS): The 12th International Yoga Day is being observed across Assam on Sunday with yoga sessions organized at various locations. Ministers of the Assam Government, public representatives, and prominent personalities joined the celebrations, promoting the message of a healthy mind, healthy body, and healthy society.
A major yoga session was held on the banks of the Brahmaputra River at Uzan Bazar in Guwahati, where Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participated in yoga exercises along with a large number of citizens. The leaders began the day by promoting fitness, well-being and harmony through the practice of yoga.
Speaking through his official social media handle, the Chief Minister said that yoga establishes a beautiful harmony between the body, mind and soul. He noted that in today’s fast-paced world, yoga plays a unique role in fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
He further urged people to make yoga a part of their daily routine and take a collective pledge to build a healthier, stronger and more positive society. The Chief Minister also extended his heartfelt greetings to the people on the occasion of International Yoga Day.-----------
