
Jorhat, 18 June (HS): A man killed after being hit by a train near Naksari Railway Station in Assam's Jorhat district on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Bachchan Majhi, a resident of Rajabari village. According to reports, he had left home early in the morning to go to work.
Local residents said Majhi and his wife regularly travelled by train for work. On Thursday, he was reportedly walking along the railway tracks with his children to catch a train when the incident occurred.
At around 6:39 a.m., he was struck by the Rajdhani Express heading towards Upper Assam, resulting in his death on the spot. The accident took place approximately 200 metres from Naksari Railway Station.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Moriani Railway Police reached the scene and sent the body to a hospital for post-mortem examination. An investigation into the matter is underway.-----------
