Lucknow, 17 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath, a prominent BJP politician and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, has
regularly paid tribute to Balasaheb Deoras' legacy, as have other senior RSS
officials. CM Adityanath frequently praises his ideological and social changes,
citing him as a fundamental builder of the organization's century-long history
and present political significance.
Balasaheb Deoras, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) third Sarsanghchalak,
died in Pune on June 17, 1996. Born in 1915, he commanded the RSS from 1973 to
1994, when he stepped down due to illness, and is most known for his pivotal
role during the Emergency and the Ram Janmabhoomi agitation.
UP CM penned a post on X, which reads as follows: “On the
death anniversary of the pioneer of social harmony, the third Sarsanghchalak of
@RSSorg, the revered Balasaheb Deoras ji, humble tribute. Your life of
sacrifice, thoughts, and organizational skills will forever guide us all.”
