US President Donald Trump has indicated that any decision to reimpose stricter sanctions on Russian oil exports will be based on prevailing global oil prices. He said the United States is closely monitoring fluctuations in international crude oil markets before determining its next course of action.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the G7 Summit, Trump said crude oil prices have declined in recent days and that the US administration is carefully assessing the trend. He noted that the stability of global energy markets and the overall supply situation would play a crucial role in shaping future policy decisions.

Earlier this year, the US administration granted temporary relief from certain sanctions imposed on Russian oil exports in response to challenges affecting global energy supplies. The move was intended to ease pressure on international energy markets and help maintain adequate supply. However, the relief measures are set to expire soon, and attention is now focused on Washington's next policy decision regarding Russian energy exports.

Earlier, leaders of the G7 nations, in their recent joint statement, reaffirmed their support for Ukraine and underscored the need to maintain economic pressure on Russia. The statement also called for strengthening sanctions across multiple sectors, including Russia's energy industry.
