
Lucknow, 17 June (H.S.): Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium hosted another international fixture on Wednesday as India took on Afghanistan. The match marks the 10th international game to be played at the Lucknow venue, while it is India's third international appearance at the stadium.
Of the two previous international matches played here, India has won one and lost one.
Considering the prevailing weather conditions, three scheduled drinks breaks have been introduced to provide relief to the players during the match. As per the schedule, the breaks are being held at 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.
A special moment unfolded before the toss when Shreyas Iyer presented the debut cap to Prince Yadav. The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer is making his international debut for India at his home ground, the Ekana Stadium.
The Indian team management had already indicated its intention to rotate players, making Prince Yadav's inclusion largely expected. Attention will now be on whether Gurnoor Brar and Harsh retain their places in the playing combination in the coming matches.
In the match, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field first.
