
Gorakhpur, 14 June (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
reviewed the works of Public Works Department (PWD) in Gorakhpur and Azamgarh
divisions at Annexe Bhawan on Sunday. During this, the Chief Minister took
information from the senior officers of the government and the department about
the progress of old and ongoing projects being run in both the divisions. He
directed that road construction works should be expedited by running a
war-footing campaign and every work should be completed within the time limit
with quality. He directed to pay special attention to the projects before
monsoon (rainy season) and complete them on time. In the meeting, the Principal
Secretary of the Public Works Department also presented an account of the works
of the previous year.
The Chief Minister directed that road work be started
immediately, prioritizing proposals received from public representatives, so
that ordinary citizens can directly benefit. All necessary approvals should be
obtained by the end of June, and the foundation stone should be laid
immediately thereafter. Work should begin only after arranging all necessary
resources, so that the work is not interrupted and completed on time.
Commissioner and District Magistrate should also review from
time to time: The Chief Minister said that in keeping with the 2026-27 action
plan, PWD officials should prioritize road construction in all assembly
constituencies of the Gorakhpur and Azamgarh divisions. The action plan should
be made available immediately so that funds can be approved in a timely manner.
The tender process should also be completed on time. To expedite the work, the
concerned commissioners and district magistrates should hold regular meetings
at their respective levels to review the progress of the construction work, ensuring
its progress is ensured.
Strong arrangements should be made for the safety of workers:
Emphasizing effective monitoring of the work, the Chief Minister directed
officials to conduct on-site inspections and ensure online monitoring through
technology. The Chief Minister placed special emphasis on safety standards in
the Bridge Corporation's work. He said that the safety of the workers should
not be compromised in any way and that adequate safety kits should be provided
for them. All departments should work in close coordination with each other.
The Chief Minister also inquired about the progress of Mohan
Setu: The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of the Mohan Bridge,
currently under construction in Deoria. He directed officials to inspect the
site and expedite the bridge's construction. He also said that contractors who
are taking below tender contracts should be closely monitored and
identified.
