
Prayagraj, 14 June (HS): Under the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi, the country has established new dimensions of development, good
governance, and public welfare in the last 12 years. During this period,
approximately 250 million people have come out of poverty, and millions of
families have benefited from various public welfare schemes. This was stated by
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister and Prayagraj-in-Charge Minister Swatantra Dev
Singh, who attended the cleanliness drive organized in the Allahpur Sanjay
Nagar slum in Prayagraj on Sunday.
He said that it is the Prime Minister's
clear resolve that no eligible person in the country should be deprived of the
benefits of government schemes. On the occasion of completion of 12 golden
years of service, good governance and public welfare of the Central Government,
Swatantra Dev Singh participated in the cleanliness drive in Sanjay Nagar slum
in Allahpur and gave the message of cleanliness by sweeping and planted a
sapling under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. During this, he
interacted with the local citizens and beneficiaries of various schemes,
listened to their problems and got information about the benefits being
received from the schemes.
In his address, the Minister said that
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's life is a symbol of struggle and service. Rising
from a humble background to the highest office in the country, the Prime
Minister has served the people for over 25 years without taking a break. He
said that 12 years ago, the country was going through a period of instability
and policy ambiguity, but today India has established itself as a strong and
confident nation on the world stage.
Swatantra Dev Singh said that the Swachh
Bharat Abhiyan has today become a mass movement. People's awareness of
cleanliness, environmental protection, and tree planting has increased. He
explained that in the last nine years, approximately 15 million saplings have
been planted in Prayagraj district, which have now grown into trees and are
playing an important role in environmental protection. He urged people to plant
as many saplings as possible and pledge to protect them.
The Minister said that central and state
government schemes have brought positive change to the lives of the poor,
farmers, women, youth, and disadvantaged groups. Schemes like the Pradhan
Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi,
ration, toilets, and mass marriage schemes have benefited millions of families.
In the programme, certificates were
distributed to the women of self-help groups formed by DUDA, house keys and
acceptance letters to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana,
certificates to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana and
cleaning kits to the Swachhata Mitras. A free health checkup camp was also
organized on this occasion. Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani, MLAs
Harshvardhan Vajpayee, Deepak Patel, Guru Prasad Maurya, BJP Metropolitan
President Sanjay Gupta, State Minister Anamika Chaudhary, District Magistrate
Manish Kumar Verma, Municipal Commissioner Seelam Sai Teja, Chief Development
Officer Harshika Singh, and a large number of public representatives and
officials were present at the event.
