
Ballia, 14 June (HS): On completion of 12 years of Narendra
Modi government at the Centre, the district's in-charge minister Dayashankar
Mishra Dayalu held a press conference in Vikas Bhawan auditorium on Sunday and
gave information about the government's achievements and various development
schemes being implemented in the district. He said that after the formation of
the government at the Centre in the year 2014, Ballia has developed rapidly
along with the country. He said that the government has set clear development
targets for the year 2027 and is working on the mantra of Sabka Saath,
Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.
The Minister-in-Charge stated that the declaration of
Surhatal (Jayprakash Narayan Bird Sanctuary) as the country's 100th Ramsar site
is a historic achievement for Ballia. This will give the district's
biodiversity, natural heritage, and environmental importance new recognition at
the national and international levels. Highlighting the achievements of various
public welfare schemes, he said that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi
Yojana, assistance of Rs. 1524.72 crore has been provided to over 5.08 lakh
farmers in the district. Housing has been provided to 74,992 beneficiaries
under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and 21,082 beneficiaries under the
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Under the PM Svanidhi Yojana, loans worth Rs.
14.41 crore have been disbursed to 9,610 beneficiaries. Under the PM Surya Ghar
Free Electricity Scheme, 1,697 consumers have installed rooftop solar plants
with a capacity of 5.50 MW.
He said that under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural), more
than 5.05 lakh toilets have been constructed, while 14,491 individual toilets
have been built in urban areas. Under the MNREGA scheme, millions of man-days
have been created by spending Rs 1302.98 crore and providing employment to a
large number of families. He said that out of the 393 Amrit Sarovars selected
in the district, construction of 337 has been completed.
Highlighting achievements in the health sector, the Minister
stated that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, over 10.60 lakh Ayushman cards
have been issued, and claims worth Rs. 249.35 crore have been paid to 130,251
beneficiaries. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, over 2.24 lakh families
have been provided free gas connections. A large number of people have been
connected to financial security and banking facilities through the Pradhan
Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Atal
Pension Yojana, and Jan Dhan Yojana.
