
Lucknow, 13 June (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister
Keshav Prasad Maurya has directed officials of the Rural Development Department
to organize various programs, including mass yoga, with widespread public participation
at all Amrit Sarovar sites across the state on the occasion of International
Yoga Day on June 21. He said that Yoga Day programs organized at Amrit Sarovars
will play an important role in promoting health, cleanliness, environmental
protection, and public participation in rural areas.
In accordance with the instructions of Deputy Chief Minister
Maurya, the Rural Development Department has issued necessary guidelines to all
districts. The instructions state that mass yoga sessions and cleanliness
programs should be organized at Amrit Sarovar sites. Active participation of
the local community, school students, women from self-help groups, Didi's
associated with the Livelihood Mission, Panchayat representatives, government
officials, and other stakeholders should be ensured in these programs.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure
wide public participation by involving Amrit Sarovar user groups, self-help
groups, Padma awardees, freedom fighters and their families, youth groups,
educational institutions and public representatives in the programmes.
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, programs will be
held at Amrit Sarovar lakes, including Sarovar Samvad. Through this
program, villagers will be informed about the provisions of the VB-G Ram G
Yojana and other rural development schemes. Commissioner Rural Development
Department G.S. Priyadarshi has directed all the districts to upload
photographs of the organized programs and details of the activities on the
Mission Amrit Sarovar portal and provide a detailed report to the state
headquarters within two days of the completion of the program.
